Other than my family, the passion of my life is quilting. An eclectic, I love a wide variety of styles and techniques encompassing both machine and hand work. I am a longarm quilter who can work for you. I enjoy any style, from pantographs to all-over to full custom, ranging from traditional to modern. I love bringing vintage tops to life and am willing to work with a challenging quilt top. Instagram: lyncc_quilts

BOMs Away - A Star and Some Foxes

Welcome to the Link-Up for BOMs Away Mondays!
We'd love to see the BOM you're working on lately.
This week's link-up is at the bottom of the post.

We're going a little crazy, cleaning for the crazy week starting tomorrow. At lunchtime, Scott has his unit ceremony/BBQ for his Air Force Retirement after 26 years of active duty service. :D  We're so ready for this. It's been a long haul. And then, we go straight from that ceremony to the Taekwondo dojang to pick up the two Korean teens who will be living with us for the next week. I wonder what they'll think about getting picked up by an officer in his dress blues. . .   lol!!

I am, of course, making a special Air Force Retirement quilt for Scott. It's actually adapted from Deanne's DOD Americana BOM, but it got knocked off the work table too long by Lucy's Bo Peep quilt to be able to get it all pieced in time for the ceremonies, let alone quilted up yet. He's totally cool with that, as you just never know how much longer a 90 year old is going to be able to wait for a quilt to be finished for them!

Today I got the big star block finished. It is 24.5 x 26 inches:

I need to embroider the wording on his deployments row, then I can assemble the center. Lots of HSTs to make for the border work, but I think I'm going to have to go shop for some more blue and red to be able to do those.

And for my new BOM, I also made the 16 foxes for Fancy Forest. They went together quite easily. I wanted to move forward for more fun and do up the bunnies, but - you know - cleaning. . .

They're so CUTE!

Now it's your turn. Do you have any BOM work to share?  :D

  2. Very cute foxes... I love this quilt, and considered buying the kit - but figured I already had so much that I should be doing instead.

  3. Wishing Scott a happy and fulfilling retirement. It doesn't sound like you are retiring anytime soon though Lynette!
